Sung Chul Kim, Ph.D.

President and CEO

Dr. Sung Chul Kim co-founded LSK BioPharma in 2005 to conduct business development and regulatory consulting as a bridge for the healthcare industry in South Korea and North America. Dr. Kim is the President, CEO, and sits on the Board of Directors.

Dr. Kim brings 26 years of drug development experience covering areas such as pharmaceutical product development, non-clinical studies, clinical trials, cGMP manufacturing, Korean and US regulatory affairs, as well as business development. His academic experience includes a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, a M.S. in Pharmaceutics and a B.S. in Pharmacy from Sungkyunkwan University.

Alex S. Kim, MA

Executive Vice President

Mr. Alex Kim joined LSK BioPharma in May of 2007. In December of 2007, he was elected to the Board of Directors. Mr. Kim has 25 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Mr. Kim’s experience includes executive management, business development, product and technology licensing, strategic planning, fund raising and M&A activity. He has closed financing deals in Europe, Asia and the US. Mr. Kim received his Master’s Degree in International Business from Sophia (Sang Ji) University in Tokyo, Japan and Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science with a Minor in Economics from the University of Utah. He is also a Member of the Board of Directors of HLB Co., LTD (South Korea) and Co-D Therapeutics (USA).

Soo Whan Choi, Ph.D.

Chief Financial Officer

Dr. Soo Whan Choi is a co-founder of LSK BioPharma and sits on the Board of Directors. Dr. Choi has over 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He is a successful corporate leader combining a strong background in business development, fundraising, M&A activity, and operations. He received a B.A. from Seoul National University’s Department of Economics; a M.A. in Economics from the University of Washington, and a Ph.D. in Finance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Dr. Choi is a Board Member for the Korean Society of Bioengineering and the Korean Society of Regenerative Medicine.

Scott Houston

Vice President of Clinical Development and Business Development

Mr. Scott Houston has over 25 years of drug development experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. He has been responsible for providing leadership for clinical operations and strategic input into clinical development of multiple therapeutic products. He has helped modify and execute operational strategies within small and large pharmaceutical companies that achieved approval for Trisenox ®, Eloxatin ®, Gleevec ®, and Omidria ®.

Cheol Hee Park, M.D., Ph.D

Associate Director of Clinical Development

Dr. Cheol Hee Park received a M.D. and M.S. from the Hallym University College of Medicine as well as a Ph.D. from the University Of Konkuk School Of Medicine, Department of Preventive of Medicine, Korea. He has over 10 years teaching and research experience in Korea and the United States. Dr. Park has author credit on 50 published articles. Dr. Park is a member of multiple Gastrointestinal Societies in the United States and Korea. His interests and strengths are the research of gastrointestinal cancer, endoscopic treatment of gastrointestinal disease, and capsule endoscopy.

Arlo McGinn, Ph.D.

Director, Project Management

Dr. Arlo McGinn has over 12 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry. He gained significant experience through the Lassonde New Venture Development Center at the University of Utah and as a co-founder of Veritract, Inc. Dr. McGinn’s skills include product and business development, market and company analysis, pharmacoeconomics, and project management. He received his Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of Utah, and his B.S. in Chemistry from Brigham Young University.

Yash Jain

Associate, Business Development

Yash Jain earned his Bachelors in Biomedical Engineering from The George Washington University and his Masters in Biotechnology and Entrepreneurship from the University of Pennsylvania. Yash also worked at Booz Allen Hamilton as a Strategic Business Development Consultant to help establish the direction for a Robotics Lab. Yash’s exceptional background in technical sciences and business development allow him to understand the complete picture and deliver high-value solutions.

Amanda Chen

Associate, Project Manager

Amanda graduated from UC Berkeley majoring in Chemical Biology with minors in both Chemical Engineering and Industrial Engineering. She obtained a MS degree in Technical Entrepreneurship Management at University of Rochester and passed CFA level 1.

Prior to joining LSK BioPharma, Amanda’s experience includes venture capital and biopharmaceutical R&D.

Tori Kim

Associate, Business Development

Tori Kim, Pharm.D. has worked as a lead clinical pharmacist providing clinical review expertise for procedure, policy, and formulary related processes at Xerox State Healthcare. Her research experience includes studying the integration of clinical pharmacist involvement in hematology-oncology clinics at an academic medical center. She received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Texas at Austin.

Angie Price, MBA

Accounting and Office Manager

Angie Price has worked with LSK BioPharma since 2007. Angie has over 15 years experience in Accounting. She earned her MBA from the University of Phoenix and a BBA in Finance with minors in International Business and Spanish from Idaho State University.

Weili Cheng, Ph.D., J.D.

Vice President of Legal Affairs

Weili Cheng, Ph.D., J.D. joined LSKB in 2007 and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2008. Dr. Cheng has over 17 years IP legal patent experience including preparing and prosecuting patent applications in a wide variety of chemistry and biochemistry, drug delivery, pharmaceutical and biomedical compositions and diagnostic devices, biotech and polymer chemistry arts, infringement and validity studies, licensing, assisting with litigation, trademark and copyright practice, IP due diligence and corporate IP management responsibilities.

Prior to her legal work, Dr. Cheng studied Virology at Wuhan University in China receiving a B.S. and an M.S. She later received a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Utah. Dr. Cheng has received a J.D. from the S.J. Quinney College of Law, University of Utah.

Alice Park

Department Assistant

Alice Park obtained experience in various supporting roles including Human Resources, Contracts, Accounting, Facility Operations, General Administrative duties and Executive Assistant duties working at Underwriters Laboratories (UL). She received a Bachelor of Science degree from California Polytechnic University of San Luis Obispo.
